How often do you get to work with a legend?

Club Medici jumped at the opportunity to update the website of legendary (dare we say infamous) publishing house Spartan Press.

The Spartan Press logo is a line- drawing of a chair with a bare light-bulb suspended above it.
The right of the chair is the dark crimson text "Spartan Press."
Middle-America's most engaging authors since 1998

The recipient of Club Medici’s first major arts grant, Spartan Press remains Middle-America’s most prolific publisher of avant-garde poetry, creative nonfiction, essay and fiction. Since its founding in 1998, Spartan and its imprints have published over 500 books, including many Missouri and Kansas poet laureates and award-winning writers.

Image depicts the covers of a four books sampled from the Spartan Press inventory.
Maintenance, by William Trowbridge, Death of the Coppertone Girl by Kevin Ridgeway, Essential Workers by Michael Poage, and Moonshine Ethics for a New Humanity by Alexej Savreux.
Some new titles from Spartan Press

Go on — take her for a spin! New Releases, Authors, Publications, a little history… These are some of the grittiest writers tapping on keys. Hell, buy a book! We all need a good read!

Keep an eye out in the weeks ahead for more exciting Spartan Press events!

To awaken artists to a life of creative work, to expand access to audiences, to preserve a record and to encourage deeper understanding and enjoyment.
This is Club Medici.
